Hi, guys I really need help as soon as possible. I recently built my First AR-15. I used a brand new 5.56 upper with BCG and charging handle from runnerrunnerguns.com, I've heard only good things about them. The lower is a Spikes Tactical lower with Stag Arms lower parts kit that I purchased from Black Hat Firearms.  The Stock and buffer tube are Global Military Gear AR-15 6 Position Stock Assembly Black GM-6PS-B Commercial and is for Carbines not rifles from Cheaper than Dirt. I am having an issue with my bolt not closing all the way after the first round is chambered, but it does close if I use the forward assist. After I use the forward assist I fire off a few rounds and then the bolt doesn't close all the way again. I am using a Brand new PMAG and firing new inbox PMC green tip 5.56 ammunition. I have a friend that was with me at the range with his own AR. I switched my Upper on to his Lower and my Upper ran flawlessly. Then I put his Upper on my Lower and the bolt wasn't fully closing. I know that it can't be the upper since it ran perfectly on my friends lower, I was suspecting that it is my Buffer spring. It seems that it isn't strong enough to push the bolt forward. Excuse me if my AR lingo isn't correct but please help me figure out what is going on. Should I buy a new spring or a new stock kit? If I was to buy a new Stock Kit I was leaning towards the Spikes tactical stock kit. Please help

swap his spring and buffer into your tube and see if that works.

What he said, I would guess its your buffer spring.  How far off is it from closing?

Pull your buffer spring to stretch it out a bit.

UPDATE 12-17-13   I would swap springs but my friend already got rid of his AR. I did what the other guy said and pulled the spring, it seems to have made the spring stronger but I won't know until I get some more ammo to test if it works. Thank You guys for the info, keep it coming just in case.   if I fix it I will update everyone thank you
