Who makes a good LPK?

I have a CMMG and also used the PSA kits.

Both assembled easily and feel similar from a trigger perspective.

CMMG.

Got a bunch of crap from PSA.

PSA does make some good basic parts kits, but they're selling a bunch of crap like PTAC and Blackhawk LPK that give their good stuff a bad name. You can get simple lower parts kits without fire control group and go for  ALG or better FCG. Spikes and DD also make good relativity cheap kits-around $100 or so.

SPIKES is good to go as well.

TR Enabling makes a good one

I use WOA because they ship without FCG..

What about Stag Arms? They offer a LPK with ambi safety selector for $82 I would be interested in.

I use DPMS, RRA, Stag/CMT, Spikes, CMMG...all good and no real issues.

I have a couple Stag kits on my latest builds and they are good quality.

Sort of off subject, but if your like me and don't like the a2 grips that come with the LPK, and looking for a different trigger style. Buying an LPK that includes those parts just seemed like a waste. On the other note it is good to have back up parts, but I was going for a build on the cheap (cheap as in less clutter with parts I wasn't going to use anyway). So I went with a dpms spring kit 8$ and dpms pin kit 15$ (midway). Let me just say neither come the buffer retainer you'll need to grab that as well, dpms buffer retainer 2$. Since I also ordered a buffer tube, safety selector, RE end plate, and the trigger guard all to my liking and at the same time, saved myself a lot of time and money in the long run. After you put some wear on the rifle then you can stock up on spare parts. Just my 2cents if it helps you out.

Had you done your homework you would have found the WOA kit from ADCO ships without FCG or a grip..Ala carte get expensive from the freight stand point. You did right by evaluating what you wanted,  some of the guys here won't take the time.

+1  I purchased a PSA kit for my latest build and it is NOTICEABLY different from the CMMG.  CMMG is crisper on the safety, smoother trigger and better fitting pins.

Rock River

Of the readily available kits, I like this one.  The triggers aren't gritty and they have one helluva hammer spring.

I was super happy with White Oak Armament. I asked them not to include the pistol  grip or the trigger guard if it got me cheaper shipping. They didn't include either of those parts and they also didn't charge me for them. I think it was $38 shipped for and kit with out a FCG, trigger guard and pistol grip.

CMMG and RRA are GTG and available in 4 versions : complete, minus FCG, minus grip, and minus FCG and grip.
Redbarn armory lets you build your own LPK from pull-down lists, so you can get exactly what you want. Buy just the bare bones, or upgrade the FCG to an ALG, Spikes, CMC, RRA, Timney, etc.
Grip or no grip, whatever YOU want, all on one ship ticket.. Here's some links for a starting point.

Stag makes an excellent LPK, spiral lock roll pins and triggers out of the package that are crisp. Daniel Defense is hands down the best i have ever used, Stag is excellent and so is J&T

i've used a ton of lpk's out there, most are the same. i would give CMMG another shot at some point because they changed a finishing step on the triggers to make them better t. i know PSA and Spikes are loved and held as the Holy Grail but i have found that the PSA lpk's as of late are going down in quality, the Spike basic lpk was a bag of garbage, i feel like it was a re branded DPMS lpk.

I bought WOA without the trigger . . .  but it did come with a grip that I may use for another build.  Good company so parts should be good too.  I assume there are just a few makers of these parts though so some companies must be selling the same parts.

I've read that there are only a few producers of lower parts kits, and they get branded and distributed by the retail guys. There was one post that said "if you put 5 lower parts kits in a bag and mixed them up even the so called manufacturer couldn't identify their parts." IMHO I think there is truth to this, but I'm an AR newb working on my first build.

I've heard this to be true about receivers also. The retail guys just put their mark on them. I have three non-blem spikes lowers, and none of them are exactly identical.

Having said this, there are always exceptions. Just my 2 cents
