I have a Stoner BCG and PSA BCG , both unused and got them mixed up.

There are very little visual differences in side by side comparison to me,  although one has numbers/letters rolled in top of gas key set screws.

I know Stoner is 8620 vs Carp 158 for PSA .

I want to send Stoner back to vendor.

Can anyone help?

My PSA does not have PSA logo engraved.

Also the BCG in pics above has only an M rolled into bolt

The one I believe is the PSA has MPI rolled into bolt.

Also note the number 5 between Gas key screws in pic, the letters rolled into screws appear to be YES or YFS,
and a circle on that gas key at top rear of key.

Here is pic of BCG's  GAS KEY'S for side by side.

Stoner has no marks on top.

PSA is stamped.

Edited to add: PSA gas key bolts also marked YFS.

Does that just refer to the gas key? Or is the bolt really like forged or something?

cheaper BCG's use these YFS screws. the screws are off the shelf made in taiwan cheapies than not nearly as strong as machined bolts.

FYI....the gas key with the number on it is a either a MIM or die cast key(mold mark), the one without looks machined.

Depending on the description of material that is called out by either mfg, you could narrow it down by that.

I don't know why people these days that worry about all the MIL-Spec stuff out there are accepting these gas keys that are flooding the market nowadays.

Thank you,

Let me be clear before this post gets any more convoluted. In reference to the picture posted above the Stoner is the top BCG and the PSA is the bottom BCG.

I just received an e-mail from PSA customer service stating their BGC is the one with no markings the top pic of side by side.

I was hoping someone who owned a Stoner BCG could verify.

Thanks,
bonegunner

After reading responses/links  to my origional post, I  e-mailed PSA CS to ask for help resolving my BCG issues.

I asked for a  return to store for store credit.

I told them that the BCG had never been fired or even put into a rifle.

The gas key/staking is crappy with cheap YFS screws and my  bolt is not MPI as advertised .

I got one shipped with only M on bolt as some others did.

Yesterday I got a reply from "customer service" stating that since I had purchased in April that there was nothing he could do to help me
as they have a 30 return policy.

He finished by saying that he appreciated my business and hoped I have a good day.

Now that response shows some real customer appreciation.

My reply was... Then your company policy is if you make a mistake and customer does not figure it out in 30 days ,then too bad for customer.

I also asked for name of customer service mgr.

Have not gotten a response yet.

I will admit to being a newbie regarding AR parts I am getting educated quickly...at a cost of course.
