So I decided to go with Palmetto State Armory for my first build. I ordered pretty much the entire rifle from them minus the stripped lower. I read on here that their shipping times were pretty long so I was prepared and patient. I waited a month and never recieved any email or anythng so I called them. After 3 days of phone tag I finally talked to someone and apparently there was a typo in their description of the upper I ordered and they couldnt ship it until they made sure it was ok with me. A week later only the upper showed up Had to call them again and they havnt even even shipped the rest of my order. So now I have to wait another week for the rest of it. (hopefully everything shows up) I have to say this is really dissapointing and I'm not sure I will be doing business with them on my next build. At least not with a big order like this. Is this typical for them or????
On a lighter note I'm very happy with upper I recieved! Good quality and the packaging was better than I expected! And their customer service isn't bad (when you can get a hold of them). |

PSA is an industry partner and has a thread just for this. Check it out in the industry section .
PSA is GTG but they screw up every now and then. They will make it right. Look at the price you paid compared to other companies. In the long run you will pay less through PSA but you have to deal with the long wait. |
| I've ordered from them 6 times so far, every time I've gotten my correct order but it does take them a while to ship it. I've also never had a hard time reaching them by phone or email. My most recent order was 10 mags that were on sale for 5.99 each and free shipping over $50. I got a call several days ago from them saying they actually over sold the mags I ordered so they upgraded me to 10 pmags which shipped out today. Needless to say they've got my buisness from now on regardless of the shipping time. |
| PSA has excellent customer service, sometimes you may have a wait 5-10 on hold but they will get someone to talk to you, just recently I got a LPK with a missing part and they had it at my door 2 days later, everyone makes mistakes and they will definitely make it right. |
| I've ordered their Classic Lower build Kit and 2 other LPK's from them. One LPK had very small dia. hammer and trigger pins. In fact, looked like a couple cut down 10 penny nails. Called CS and they sent not one but two sets of pins and they arrived in two days. Overall their products are good, customer service has always been decent and their pricing seems very fair compared to many others out there. IMHO |
|
PSA is not a vendor I would recommend for customers that need anything quickly or expect a lot of personal service. It's more a fire-and-forget operation.
They make reasonably good stuff at decent prices. Inventory your parts kits closely... make sure they are complete. |

I'm new to the ar game but i will tell you I have a love hate relationship with psa. I love them my bank acount doesn't lol. It does take a while to ship, but It's hard to beat the deals. I have built two and a half from them and everything went fine. Way better than the red x arms kit I bought that had m4 upper and rifle barrel (i think).
|
| Definitely not a place to buy if you need it in a few days. However, like others said, if you're patient, you get a good product, and they do warn you that most things don't ship for at least 2 weeks. I did have one issue when I bought an upper along with 2 mags, and they only shipped 1 mag. I called them, they answered, and an extra mag showed in about 3 days. |
|
I have made probably 10-12 orders with PSA. Of those 5 were incorrect. Either they forgot something, or shipped something they were not supposed to, or shipped a broken/non-working part. They took care of all the issues to my satisfaction but I am not a big fan of a company that can't do better than 50-60% accuracy.
They may be doing better now, but I still have a bad taste for them. |

PSA, quality parts, fair prices, worst shipping department in the history of the world. This. If you need a part ASAP go elsewhere. But if you are assembling parts for a build and don't need it immediately? PSA is perfect. I just bought their folding upper sight. I don't need it soon instantly, so for $50 shipped? I can wait. Awesome prices and great quality. Their shipping dept must be run by a bunch of 85 year old though. |
| I ordered a stripped lower March 25th 2013, and it was delivered to my FFL the 8th of May. Considering that was during the height of the panic, I'd say that's an outstanding turnaround time. I've ordered LPKs and other parts from them a half-dozen other times, and everything arrived in a reasonable amount of time with all parts included and intact. |
|
I'm newer to the game but almost all my stuff has come from PSA their shipping isn't bad and I've never had a wrong, broke, or missing piece knock on wood. I just ordered my first upper from them and honestly I'm glad they require a signature instead of letting a 400 upper sit on my porch. On the other hand I didn't get charged for shipping either with PSA, win win in my book. On the other hand I just ordered from BCM for the first time today and it shipped this afternoon holy cow they're fast. |

As Doubleshot00 suggested I posted in the PSA's "where's my order" thread in the Industry section and got a pretty quick response. The guy there has been very helpful so far and I expect my issue to be straightened out pretty quickly.. If anyone is having trouble I recommend trying it out. |

Its okay dude, in case anybody hasn't said it yet, welcome to Arfcom, and PSA will get you straight if your not afraid to say Howdy when your lost |
| The sad part about things like this is that a bad experience always gets spread faster/further than a positive. I've had one order with PSA and zero issues. Parts are great quality and the price was phenomenal. People are human and mistakes get made sometimes, the upside is that PSA has the reputation of fixing things for their customers and making it right rather than crapping on them. |
|
As others mentioned their prices cannot be beat
I have a few stripped lowers from them and am a week after ordering a few lower build kits. Hopefully it doesnt take a month! Anyways if you are in a rush and expect quick delivery do not order PSA. They've got my business otherwise |
| I can't really add anything to this thread, but I'm planning on starting my first build sometime in the next couple months and plan on using PSA for the majority of the build. Could it be that thier shipping takes a little longer cause they are just so damn popular??? Everybody seem to really like thier quality a well as price, and they seem to have great CS... Just a taught.. |

I might give them a pass, I think they're moving warehouses and they're probably getting a lot of orders. Mistakes do happen and I suspect when you do get your items that you'll be happy with the product. I've ordered many things from them, including my upper, and have had pretty good interactions with them. |

I have been shopping around for a decent quality upper with 1:7 barrel. I was looking at Facebook and PSA popped up with a pre Black Friday deal for $279. The price was right so I added it to my cart, but could not check out. I guess they sold the few they had on hand.
Not sure that this is a great way to do business by aggravating potential customers. |

I think that this was a preview only, NOT that they had a limited sale of that kit right now. Don't get frustrated with them, as they have proven to be reputable. They also tend to bring back old sales quite often, so just check their site once a week, or sign up for their emails. |

I placed my first order with PSA 10/20/13. They should send a bottle of Maalox with the order. It took ten days to ship the order. The parts are great and so was the price.I ordered a lower parts kit the price was great. The only thing the buffer tube kit came loose in the box no part numbers for this.On Installing the buffer tube it would not screw on. I took a tube from my CMMG and it fit. They sent me a RMA and i returned the buffer kit with a letter stating the trouble. A week after they received it they send me UPS for shipping it to me waited all day it did not come. Icalled them and they sent me a new del date for me to receive it. The package came in four days later with a buffer tube and 4 parts missing. I went to put on the buffer tube still the wrong one........... |
| Yeah ordered my buffer tube assembly through PSA and it did take about a week and half to get it. 5 of those, it hadn't left their facility. I did contact them via email and seemed to speed things up because they sent me a shipment conformation about an hour later. They're GTG, decent customer service too. I talked to them a few times over the phone when I had trouble ordering at one point in time. Sitting here thinking, I think they do say on their website policy to allow 5 days processing. So that probably is a factor. I'd definitely order from them again. |

I've always had positive experiences with PSA as long as my expectations are that my order might take a month to arrive. Same here but since I'm not in a huge hurry and have plenty of things to shoot and otherwise keep busy with, I have dropped a lot of coin there. They made one mistake early on (first order) and after that flawless. |

Why do you think the upper is good quality? I am not really looking for something to put 50,000 rounds through. I feel from what I have seen here and other forums that a PSA or Del Ton may be a good place to start. New to AR's but not to shooting by any stretch. I have shot trap for over 40 years with everything from Remington 1100's to Perazzi. At this point I am not looking for the "Perazzi" of AR's. |

PSA is fine a long as there is no problem.
All companies are great until a customer has a problem, then the greatness in a company will be shown in how they resolve a problem. With some companies customers are always first, and with some companies customers are wrong if there is a problem. Google Palmetto State Armory complaints,or go to Better Business Bureau in Columbia SC and see what is there. A company dedicated to satisfying customers will last, those that do not will fade. |
|
PSA has great customer service. I bought an upper and it went on sale a few days later. I called and they refunded the difference.
I've always had my shipments well within the 15day window. My only beef with them is you can't amend an order even if it hasn't been charged to your cc. It has to be cancelled and reordered. I did some damage on my credit card when they had free shipping last week lol. |
|
Remember PSA is in the process of moving to a new facility and has not completed the process and will not for about six weeks. Yet they do get the job done. I just received my complete upper, LPK, and two stripped lowers. My FFL did not include my order number in his fax which caused a one day delay in shipping. PSA emailed me of the mistake and it was corrected. I ordered on 10/28/2013 and received it on 11/13/2013. My FFL called me and said he only received one lower. I called Dori in the FFL dept. at 1:00 PM on the 13th and the missing lower was sent out that day. My FFL received the missing lower today 11/14/2013.
I am happy with the quality on initial inspection. The blem lower I have in hand is perfect except tow very small scratches. PSA worked hard to get it right even with their high volume and moving. Their prices vs quality are great. I will have an AR how I want it for $800 (no optics) which would have cost about $1200 as a equal complete AR of the same quality. |
|
They should definitely work on the shipping side, ive has 2 or 3 problems with them not even shipping my product and like 16 days later I call and they go "oh we forgot about it" or something like that then ship it out the next day. That being said, PSA is still the number one AR parts website that I go to everyday to look at the deals etc. hard to beat the price on a lot of things.

If your having order issues don't forget to get a hold of their Rep on the "where's my order" thread under PSA in the Industry section at the top of the page. That guy is good and will fix your problem quicker than calling them. He had the rest of my order on my door step in 4 days and everything was correct. |
