Installed my first bbl and float tube.  It took right at 75 ft-lbs to get it to line up. The tube was just short of lining up so I gave it one more little bump with the torque wrench and it moved just a tad too far.  There does not seem to be much room for minor alignment adjusting with the float tube.  The only thing I think I'm ever going to have on the tube is a bi-pod. You can just feel a slight catch with a thumbnail on eithr side. Is this alignment 'Ok', 'do it again and get it right this time- noob', other?

I flip them upside down to align on a flat surface, being off drives me nuts

This rail is a Parallax Tactical.  It mounts to their barrel nut using 6 allen head cap screws.  There seems to be almost no wiggle room to adjust the alignment of the tube, it is all done with the bbl nut. I'll try making a mark on some masking tape and see if I can just nudge it back. It doesn't look like I need to back off more than about 0.010" or so.

ETA:  Got it.  Backed it all the way off, and worked back up to it.  Aligned up with no issues.

Could always put something like a QD carry handle on the upper and rail to bridge them and align while you tighten up. That's what I did on my build.

Back off the barrel nut and try again.  You are not going to hurt anything.  I have to do that several times for every YHM forend I have ever put on.  If you go too far, just back it off and try again.   Leaving it as is will drive you nuts if you are in the least bit OC, as I am.

This is how I do it. I use a carry handle.

Doesn't work on this style, you tighten the nut first then slide the handguard on to see if it lines up or not. Basically trial and error......

Glad to know I am not the only one spending extra time on YHM Rails...
