Well, it's not a Bushmaster but my AR has a front sight like one that sticks up and I want to get rid of it. I know it clamps onto the barrel and holds the handguard on but is there or does someone sell a clamp that would replace that ungodly sight? If not I guess I could just cut it off to get it out of the way.

It's not clamped on, it is pinned with taper pins. You can drive the pins out to remove the sight but with it you will be removing the gas block which is essential for the gun to operate. You can replace the front sight/gas block with a railed gas block and put a nice flip up sight on it. Either way you look at it, you must have a gas block on it. EDIT: This assumes that you don't have a dissy that has a low profile gas block under the hand guard in addition to the front sight. If so, do as you like with the front sight, the gun will still work with the gas block under the hand guard. |

I have a bushmaster too. I replaced my front gifts with a arms 41 b folding sight. I like the old triangle but wanted it to fold. Arms delivered that.
Keep in mind it doesn't just hold your hand guards it also has a gas rod that returns gas to your bolt to cycle. It can't be removed without some gas system in place. Unless you have the really long ar that has the front sight out wards and the gas rod closer. |

OK, I thought maybe the gas tube went in there but wasn't sure. I just want to get that sight out of there and if I have to replace it with just a gas block, that would be fine. Here's what I have. It's a DPMS/MMC

Yes, you're going to need to replace the gas block.
Here's a picture of mine with the ARMs 41-b folding sight. I really like it and maybe you would too. Up: http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/8228/djao.jpg Folded: http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/6360/mj2.JPG |
