Hi all. I just received the final parts for my first AR15. I am so excited with how it turned out. Now I'm just itching to get it out to the range to shoot it. The rifle consists of a Colt LE6920 Upper Receiver with 16" Barrel and Daniel Defence Rail system, an Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply Lower Receiver with standard Mil-Spec LPK, MagPul Gen2 5/30 FDE Magazines, and various other FDE Magpul parts. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16174004/CGN/New_AR-1.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16174004/CGN/New_AR-2.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16174004/CGN/New_AR-3.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16174004/CGN/New_AR-4.jpg Chris. |

Thanks all. I'm hoping to get it out this weekend.
The only downside is the 30 round mags are pinned to only allow 5 rounds due to Canadian laws. Luckily, pistol magazines are allowed 10 rounds and I have an AT15 pistol magazine that accepts 10 rounds of .223 and also fits in my AR (our restrictions are applied to what the magazines' primary intention is. Therefore, if a magazine is made for a pistol but fits in a rifle, then the magazine can hold 10 rounds instead of 5 that rifle mags are limited to - stupid rules). |
| I'm assuming you had a stroke while typing your post, but am I correct in assuming you're asking how I was able to find 30 round PMags in FDE? If so, I couldn't find them new. I placed a WTB ad on CanadianGunNutz and got quite a few responses. So, I managed to buy 2 of them from a fellow shooter for $30 a piece. |
