My updated list

I'm looking to build an AR for coyote hunting (woods) and the range. I've came up with a list of stuff I like. The price of everything is a little more then I hoped for but I also don't want to redo it down the road. So here is the list of parts, the price and where I found it for that price. If you know of a better part for cheaper please chime in. I'm open to all and any changes.

Bravo Company = (BCM)
Rock River Arms = (RRA)
Palmetto State Armory = (PSA)

Bravo Company Standard 16" Mid Length Upper Receiver Group and Midwest Industries SSG2-12" Handguard = $679.00 (BCM)

Bravo Company BCG and Gunfighter charging handle #4 mid = $219.00 (BCM)

Palmetto State Armory AR15 Lower = $100.00 (PSA)

Geissele AR15 Super Semi-Automatic ENHANCED Trigger = $230.00 (BCM)

Palmetto State Armory Classic LPK w/o Fire Control Group= $34.99 (PSA)

Troy BattleSight HK folding sight set = $218.00 (BCM)

ERGO F93 PRO Stock =$149.99 (PSA)

CAA UPG16 pistol grip= $34.99 (CAA)

Magpul B.A.D. lever = $28.45 (BCM)

Psa usually run sales on blems for cheap. I got a stripped lower and lpk for 99+shipping.

Right niw they also have a 16" with bcg and charging handle and a rail (not sure if quad) for 500+ ship

I have a bad lever I don't want. I don't like it. I'll give it to you if you want. Won't be till November though.

The Troy micros are meant for a 416-height top rail.  Get the standard set instead.

There are cheaper lowers if you want to save a little money.  I paid $130 for my Spike's, including transfer.  A week after I ordered, PSA blems were on sale for $69 I think.  PSA has some good deals, check twice a week.

If you're upgrading the trigger anyways, you don't need a whole LPK with fire control group.  PSA sells LPKs minus the trigger components, can save you a few bucks.  Here's one.

LPK no FCG

They also have one that comes with a Magpul MOE grip, if you're not set on the MIAD.

Or they sell a LPK with Geisselle trigger for $220.

There are cheaper mil-spec bolt carrier groups, but if you want to stick with BCM, you pry won't find a significantly lower price.

Check for coupon codes for places you order from.  Never ordered from PK, don't know if they have any.  Opticsplanet has the Eotech for the same price, but they usually have a 5% off coupon code.  Opticsplanet also sells iron sights.  5% off $600 would save you $30.

I think you may of over payed a little vs. watching for deals, but thats the name of the game. As far as a coyote rifle, unless your using a E-caller I think the EOtech ,ay be the wrong optic? With the E caller they come hauling ass in and I pick em off on 3x power on my 3x9.. and alot of the shots are inside 100 yards, but if your not using a caller.. alot of shots are 200+ yards and I think magnification would be useful to preserve hides.. IMO. But it looks like a solid option.

PSA MOE stock kit
PSA Complete lower - 200$

I think that complete lower, and then swap in a RRA NM 2 stage.. youd be set for 320$ on a lower plus FLL transfer fees.

IMO RRA NM 2 stage.. the best trigger on the market without breaking the 200$ mark.. so its a good choice, I have approximately 1800-2000 rounds through my RRA that came with one and its unbelievable.. I'm putting one in my LW KISS rifle(My own take on KISS).

I'm a noob and headed down a similar path.  I found a spikes lower on sale for 89.

USAGold on the EE has RRA LPK with 2-stage Nm triggers for $156 shipped.

I have a PSA BCG blem unit on the way for 109 - that has the carpenter 158 bolt material.  (169 regular cost).

I have a Vltor MUR upper supposed to be on my doorstep tomorrow.

I found a spikes receiver extension kit with the T2 buffer on aimsurplus for 69.00 that I ordered today.

I'm sitting at about 660 now without a stock, charge handle, bbl, front rails, bipod, or optics.  I don't think I will mess with a buis.

I'm thinking something in a 2-7 scope, maybe 3-9.

get a non chrome lined upper for slightly better accuracy,, forget the eotech..  youre spending way too much money

I happen to have an E-caller and most shot will be at 100 yards or closer because we are hunting in thick woods (we use 12g shotgun now). When we hit the fields I use my rem. 22-250. I'm not set on any of the parts I'm still making the list.

so... somehow the Navy SEAL's who are running around Afghanistan managed to do ok without back up sights, but you need them for Coyote hunting...

less accessorizing, more shooting

You are somewhat right. These seals do not have BUS but I will speak for the Marine Corps because that's what I know. Its the operators choice.
I for one like the idea of having them. But then again, alot of marines like forward grips and I don't.

And most Marines went into falluja without back ups as well.

What's the point of the rifle again? Shooting right?

By that logic, Why not just use standard iron sights?

There is no need for an eotech or any optic.

He is only using it for coyote hunting, wars have been fought for over a hundred years with just irons sights

Save the $.

Clearly both ways work fine. All I am saying is if one can barely afford the accessories on their rifle, they are not going to be able to afford shooting the rifle.

Once again is the rifle being bought to shoot or to be a paperweight

Bravo Company Standard 16" Mid Length Upper Receiver Group and  Troy VTAC ALPHA 13" Handguard = $679.00 (BCM) Great choice, your not going to find much cheaper

Bravo Company BCG and Gunfighter charging handle #4 mid = $219.00 (BCM)   Great choice, your not going to find much cheaper

Rock River Arms stripped lower = $140.00 (RRA)  You can find a spikes for around $100, or a PSA For less,  its up to you how much extra the roll mark is worth

Rock River Arms Varmint 2 stage Trigger = $120.00 (RRA)   If your willing to drop this much into a trigger, I would spend the little extra and get a Geissele

Rock River Arms lower parts kit w/o trigger = $55.00 (RRA)     Will do fine, price is not bad. comes down to preference on brand

Troy BattleSight HK folding sight set = $199.99 (PK)  Great sights, if your trying to save $ and not planning on using them, maybe consider magpul BUIS or look for some BCM/Ruger take offs on the EE

Eotech model 512 holographic sight = $415.00 (PK)  Good sight, if this is what you want. You can find it about 50-60 cheaper if you shop around. I would look for one around the 350-370 mark.

Magpul ACS mil-spec stock kit includes buffer and spring = $146.00 (PK)  I would look into the PSA complete Lower parts kits.  You can get them with stock, buffer and all lower parts for not much more than your paying on just the buffer/stock

Magpul MIAD grip basic kit = $34.00 (PK)  Personal preference, about average price

Magpul B.A.D. lever = $29.00 (PK)   Personal preference, about average price

Total Cost = $2,036.00

Its has nothing to do with I can barely afford this build, its that why spend extra money if its not needed or if there is something better for little or no more money. Just like Acedraven pointed out about the spike\psa lower just different roll. And pay alittle extra and get the Geissele trigger. I ask because of my lack of knowledge on building AR15 not using one.

Gotta agree with the Geissele over the RRA NM.  I run Geissele's on all of mine.  For your needs, the SSA-E would probably fit the bill.  Yeah, the RRA NM is nice, but not Geissele nice.

+1

The RRA NM is a great trigger at half the price of the Geissele.     I own 2 RRA NMs.     I like them.     My Geissele SSA triggers are so crisp and precise and fast.  More so than the RRA.    Worth the extra hundo IMO.     That said,   the RRA is a huge upgrade over a squishy crunchy GI trigger.

Ok after read a lot more and with the ideas given for the forum. I've redone it again and think I'm pretty much going with this setup. Does $1700.00 seem about right for a midlevel rifle?
