I have a lower with a magpul polymer trigger guard on it that I want to remove and install a billet piece. How do I remove the front roll pin that only has a hole on one side of the receiver?

that I think should have a allen screw in it

Ill look again but I'm pretty sure its a roll pin. It's a viltor factory lower. I've always used the screw mod on my builds but does a lower parts kit come with 2 roll pins for the trigger guard or one roll pin and one set screw?

In the picture of the lower parts in the build guide on this site it shows 1 roll pin and then something sticking out of the other hole in the trigger guard but doesn't say what it is. I guess it could be a screw. I just realized I've never used a stock trigger guard. Only 4 builds under my belt though.

in a stock lpk that is a spring loaded pin on the front

This works great for removing (as well as installing) a trigger guard roll pin without fear of breaking an ear off your lower:

IT IS A SET SCREW.
It may look like a roll pin, but it is a set screw unless someone cobbled the original install and used a shortened roll pin.

Use the correct size Allen wrench or you will have a sh!t ton of trouble.
Can't remember the correct size off-hand...get your Allen wrench index out and find the best fit.
Do not use a worn Allen wrench for this.

Be sure to properly support the trigger guard ears when removing the rear roll pin.
Failure to do so will result in a free pass to the Hall of the Grip of Shame.

This. you can actually remove it with a .223 round. but it doesn't sound like OP has a stock trigger guard.

Yep, N/A.
The OP is trying to remove a previously installed Magpul trigger guard which uses a set screw at the front location.

Yes. Exactly right. It's a magpul polymer trigger guard. I hope it turns out to be a set screw and someone fist pound a roll pin in. I can't wait to get home and check. It's really bugging me now.

If it is a set screw, it should be a 1/16 Allen.

My CMMG LPK had a spring loaded trigger guard on one side. Just stuck a punch to push the pin out of the ears. So it's either the set screw or spring loaded pin like everyone has been saying.

You were absolutely correct. My eyes are not great. I couldn't see what it was but when I put an Allen bit in it, it fit nice and snug. Came right out. Drove the roll pin out of the other end. No more foliage magpul trigger guard. Thanks to everyone for all your help and advice.
