Well I have been lurking around here for ages. Finding good info on here to get my build in order. I was lucky in the beginning of December to pick up 4 generic in house multi-cal lowers from a local shop here for $89.99 a piece.  Since then they went up to like $120.  Anyways got the first one complete.  Came together quite nicely and I got it all together the other day and shot a few pictures. The bolt carrier group got shipped late and it just got here today.  I am going to test it out in a week or 2 to see how she runs.

Defcon multi-cal lower from Ammo Bros.
JD Machine flat top upper
Green Mountain 5.56 NATO 16" barrel 1:7 twist
Daniel defense clone floating Quad rail
Magpul MOE collapsable stock
CMMG lower parts kit/A2 type pistol grip with a single stage trigger
CMMG bolt carrier group

Future:
Magpul angled foregrip
ACOG TA01
and maybe a sling, though it's not like I am going to be humping this thing through 20 miles of desert a day so that is far down the list.

I had a buddy of mine help me out with the Barrel install.  He machined the reciever so the barrel nut lined up properly at the proper torque spec for better accuracy... Or that's what I gathered from what he told me lol some technical stuff is above my head. I'm a car nut that is just into shooting. Other than that I stumbled through putting it all together myself. I have plenty of experience shooting M4s from work and field stripping them so it wasn't too bad.  I just had never put one all together all on my own before.  I think it turned out ok, but we will see how it shoots before I lay down the final verdict. Any thoughts are welcome... This is my first build so I'll take recommendations for future builds if anyone has any good advice. Thanks, Ryan

being a newb myself, from what I can tell it looks pretty darn good.

Post an update on how it shoots.

Thanks, I sure will.  I'll post up a pick of a target to see how it shoots after I get everything dialed in with the optic.  I'm into the whole thing like $950 so I couldn't really be happier with the outcome as long as it shoots well that is.

Well let me preface this by saying the longest local range near me is 25yards indoors. So I drug the target all the way back into their backstop. I was using the half sized targets so I could run it a little further back yet. So it was close to 30 yards. Anyways, the gun performed well. I was definitely the weak point in the whole machine of accuracy. Used PMC 55gr. 5.56 rounds. My fiancee got me a tac Vector optic... Yea I know, it was the one I told her NOT to get... Oh well. It performed well so I cant  complain. After I get the wedding all paid for and such, an ACOG is next on my list. I love those things.

It was pretty fun shooting the new AR. There was some tough guy in the next lane over bitching about how loud the rifle was indoors. He was trying to instruct marksmanship on his first date... So I kept plugging away because I'm a dick like that I guess.  But hey if you don't want to hear loud bangs all date, don't take her to the range.
