[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Installing a Foward assist

Ok, having build many lowers I'm now doing my first upper...got a striped Aero upper and a FA ket....but I don't know how to orient the FA, the pawl (as I call it) has some movement more in one direction than another...so which way does it go in? Cant seem to find a link or pic in the forums pertaining to this part of a built. Thanks

pretty sure it will only allow the roll pin to go in one way . when it in the upper the little tab should be leaning towards the bcg

Ok thanks guys..the video was just enough to figure it out when I went frame by frame to see the orientation of the pawl.....

Yep, just think about how it operates and what it needs to engage.
Also, drive the RP from the bottom side of the receiver and use a slave pin like a drill bit shank.
