I am able to get my hands on some Anderson Manufacturing lowers.
Are they decent for a basic AR? Or should I pass them up?

Get them if it's a good price. They are all pretty much the same. Made by 4 or 5 different manufacturers, just different names on them.

I've used Anderson lowers on five builds, and they're all fine. The finish is a little more glossy that most others, but not too bad.
