Just bought a free float Troy alpha rail on the EE. I have a magpul non free float hand guard right now. What do I need to buy to make the free float rail attach? I know I need a low pro gas block because I have a carbine and the rail is 15". I would like to order the parts I need from primary arms but I have no idea what I need to attach the free float rail.

Thanks.

The Troy Alpha uses the stock barrel nut... Does your have the collapsable spring loaded delta ring? If so, you will need to removed the ring and springs... then just use the plain barrel nut. It's very simple. I have 3 Alpha's mounted.

You can dremel down the front sight post if you don't want to buy a new gas block, it will be more sturdy too since its pinned

These are some pictures I took when I was doing the dremel trick, I find on the front handguard cap on the A2 sight cut 3 or 4 slits around it about 1/2 to 3/4 way in then use lineman pliers and just get one good bend and it breaks apart. These pictures are from the install of the Troy extended carbine battle rails, was tighter than the Samson rails I am used to using, but everything fit perfectly with just a little tap from nylon hammer.
