I know this has been discussed, but I couldn't find anything by searching and sifted through the last 10 pages or so of this forum.

Where is best place to order 80% lowers? I know I'll have to backorder, and probably have to wait to get a jig, but I'd like to place an order somewhere and get in line.

Thanks in advance.

May I ask why you are looking for an 80% lower?  The ones I have seen cost more than a finished lower these days...

I've used several brands, and for a basic forged 80% look at Tactical Machining.

Also notice that OP is from CT...

I understand why people do it.  Just stating that if he is doing it to save money, he's wasting his time.  I also didn't realize there was any legislation passed yet in CT, but I haven't been keeping up with it...

Thanks. I've checked tactical maching, but doesn't look like they accept back orders. Plus, if possible, I would prefer to get one with a complete fire control pocket.

the ATF's current definition prevents any portion of the fire control pocket from being completed...

that changed a couple years ago.

I know i am new here and will be accused of being a schill(I have seen many members go after low post counts)but I have been waiting around on a 80 myself. I found a site out of San Diego that has them in stock. 110 each, I was skeptical because i searched and couldnt find anything here so I called him and he seems legit. Talked to him for 30 minutes or so and he gave me his name and I checked out his ebay feedback. Its 99% positive. Blitzkriegtactical is his new site. Names Dustin and he seems like a great guy. I will be ordering in the very near future

If you want a fancy billet lower check out TR Enabling and apparently they have dropped their prices.
I've got a couple of their lowers and the jig.  They are an excellent small company with great customer service.  They have great lowers too.  I can take some pics of a lower and post, if you want to see them.
Havent had the chance to finish one out yet, I'm waiting on my HF mini mill to arrive.

Fealty Arms

We've priced out packages of 10 at our campaign page they start are $650 for 6061 T6 and $950 for 7075 T6, 20 Lowers are $1300 and $1900 with either quantity we include anodizing in whichever color you prefer for free. We have included the option to receive a un engraved lower or, engraved with our logo. We've considered setting up a vendor account with Ar15.com but haven't decided yet. If you wanted to do a group buy where everyone pays separately we can with a minimum of 10 Lowers, have you submit the names of the buyers. Instruct them to purchase whatever quantity they needed individually without anodizing and we would then include their anodizing for free.

Hpshooters

So let me make sure I have this right.
We can order the $65 lowers with or without logos. And get free anodizing with our choice of color?

Fealty Arms

That is correct in quantities of 10 or more.

This is all I have for now. Still waiting for mod approval. (Mods have approved if done off of site)

Please contact me through email. Include user name please.

Any interest if it happens?

Here is there web site.

Colfax's current backorder status is well into 2014 according to their website.  That is a long time to wait.

I would second the positive comments for TR-Enabling. I will be ordering from them again, customer service was excellent for me. I would expect a less than 2 week leadtime. I really like that this lower requires NO roll pins. The lower comes with a pin and threaded plug for bolt catch install and a threaded plug to retain the rear take-down pin detent spring. Tell Joshua "Jim the fireman" sent ya, he will take care of you.

I ended up ordering my lowers without the selector pictograms so it took a little longer for mine, but I like being free to mark however I want.

What technique do you plan on using for putting marks on your receivers?
I haven't even started thinking about that yet, but I would love the ability to do it myself.

I have experimented with using a laptop charger q-tip and salt solution just like the vaderspade thread and it has worked very well. The masking is the tricky part. I will prolly just get stencils from my local vinyl sign maker.

I have been wanting to try out that technique as well.  I think the TR lowers are going to look awesome when finished, have you decided what type of finish you are going with?
I think I am going to try the Norrell moly resin.

They are GTG, and they offer the earth color hard anodize.

I will be sending out our order next week if you want in please follow along.

I will be returning this email in a few days. If you want to commit please do so now.
Please fill out the following information again so I make sure everything is correct. You will have to arrange payment through their site. I’m just setting up the group purchase.

Name
AR15 Screen Name
Email
# of lowers -
Colors-
Logo or blank-

Again you still need to contact Fealty Arms to setup payment.

Thanks again,
Kevin HPshooter

We don’t handle any of the funds generated by the campaign until it has come to an end. Everyone would have to purchase through www.fealtyarms.com whatever quantity they want (without anodizing) individually. Then (as the group organizer) you would either give us the group name and have them email us individually and include their name,  the group name, and color choices, or you would compile the names of the individuals included in the group buy and color choices then email the information to us. We can then include the anodizing free as long as the total quantity is greater than 10 lowers.

Quentin-Laser is another option but also severely back ordered.  The pics below are of one I got in Nov last year.  I was so impressed with the quality I ordered another in mid-Jan.  Still have not received it however.

This was mentioned earlier. Once the maching is done what do I do about a finish coating? Should it be hardcoat anodized? or Parkerized? I'd actually like the mil-spec finish.

Then have it hard anodized black.

Looks like a DPMS Lo-Pro upper with a slot milled for an AA knob.

That's an impressive looking finish! My brother is interested in doing a dark earth finish on his AR15, and I was wondering what process you used for yours?
