I have a BB coming this week and want to put a muzzle brake on it.  Is this something that I could do or is it wise to have a GS do it.  If I could do it at a reasonable cost, I would like to....Thoughts?

Have a good gunsmith do it. You need a lathe to thread a barrel.

Agree,

If you need to ask what tools are needed...bring it to a smith...

You want this done right...

Else you should use a lathe for most the process...

Sturdy shipping box, a UPS Store, and ADCO's address.

It isn't like threading a piece of rod or pipe, as the barrel needs to have the threads concentric with the bore, and that simply isn't happening with any machinery other than a good lathe and a qualified operator working it.  ADCO is good folks who will get your job done properly and without a lot of fuss.

^ this 100%

ADCO will ensure concentric as well. Have them thread and mount/time your muzzle device, you'll
rest assured it was done right the first time.

Yep send it out if you have to ask. Threading is usually a very basic machinist operation, however I wouldn't want to be learning on my rifle.

Great advise

The problem is that most machinists will want to set up on the outside of the barrel and not on the bore.

Even some who call themselves gunsmiths will also do this.
