Ok so Im putting one of my uppers together and ordered a kx3 pig for my spikes 6.8 sbr Im putting together thinking that its the 5/8x24.  Since the kx3 come for the 6.8 / 7.62 in the 5/8x24. I assumed (my mistake) that its pretty much standard well my 6.8 barrel is threaded like the 5.56 1/2x28 which i checked my other 6.8 and its threaded 5/8x24. So can I use the 5.56 pig on the 6.8 barrel? They look the same but Im out of town at the moment and cant check till monday has anyone else run into this problem or know if it possible to do so any help thanks!

It should be fine, I took the cone out of my 5.56 KX3 and it measures .3875 with the calipers.  A 6.8 is a 270 bullet that measures .277.  So there should be ample clearance in the 5.56 KX3 for a 6.8.  Also to the best of my knowledge (albeit limited :-) the 6.8 is a lower pressure round (say 56,000 or so) than the 5.56 (say around 62,000)...with all this said, if it were me I would feel obligated to email Noveske and make an inquiry, it could be that all the KX3s are exactly the same except the thread size.

The 7.62 and 5.56 have the same ID just different threads. You can actually use a 9mm with it without issue.
