I drove up to Columbia yesterday, Sunday, to meet a seller off of Armslist.  Bought 2 PSA lowers with consecutive SN's.  When I drove by I happened to see that PSA was open for business.  After taking delivery of my lowers and LPK from the seller, I hit PSA to brouse.  They have quite a few lowers in the shelf for "walk in" buyers.  The salesman told me that they were starting to catch up and should have plenty for online sales in the near future.  He told me that they had experienced a severe shortage and were still behind the curve a little.  But they did have plenty of lower build kits and LPKs (I saw 3 boxes (cases?) of lower build kits behind the counter).  They also had quite a few cases of magazines @ 14.95 each.  Looks like things are turning around a little.

so did you extremely overpay for 2 lowers?  Also, which PSA were you at, Fernandina or Farrow Rd?  The Farrow Rd. store seems to have more individual parts.

Not really.  I paid $330 for 2 lowers and a LPK.  They seller wanted what he had in them.  Between shipping, tax and transfer fees, I saved about $20.  Fernandina store, I think.  Right on I-26.  Not terribly familiar with Cola as I am from Chucktown.

Where I live you did ok there... you did not get burned... What amazes me is that BCG's are not easier to mass produce than an upper or lower. As an ex machinist by trade, steel is easier to get and I would think I could write a program for a BCG easier than a lower... I am obviously wrong, because there is a shortage..haha  But things are cooling off a good bit... now... just make some damn ammo would ya?? Doing 3 gun cometitions with .22's is lame.

You did ok on that, you slightly overpaid (if you count in the gas you spent) but you did save on the transfer fees, unless you had gone and bought straight from PSA.

I was more concerned about getting lowers without a paper trail.  Made it worth a little more to me.  I have always been an advocate of buying firearms "off the books" whenever possible.  I bought 2 DelTon and now 2 PSA lowers.  Only lacking a Spikes and I will be happy.  Funny thing though, the lowers were consecutive serial #'s which is cool.  Considering I am building these rifles for my sons (16 and 19).  Plus I have a lady friend in Cola that I like to visit.  Win....win.  Now I am happy, happy, happy.

I've really been considering a SBR.  Saw a 14" upper at the gun show that I really liked.  Don't play with a lot of NFA stuff though.  So it's a bit out of my realm.  I know that the Sheriff will sign off on anything I want.  Just not real familiar with the NFA process.  Can you enlighten?

SBR are very cool but kinda defeats the purpose of "buying firearms off the books" though...

Right on. Just took your statement as though it my be something very important to you. I know some people are very concerned with that.

I wish PSA would beef up their website.

It gets utterly crushed every time they get in 20 rounds of Wolf ammo.
