Ok guys need some help please. I have a Bushmaster Ar15 A3 with the pinned AK break it only has around 150 rds thru it. I was wanting to free float the barrel when I figured out there is no way to remove the barrel nut and front sight post with out that break coming off. I will have to have a gun smith do this work and then repin a new one. SO I figure what the hell why not just get a new barrel! So this is what I came up with it will run around $295 plus shipping but I can do all the work myself. Any advice/ input welcomed.
dpms mk12 barrel 18in rifle length gas port with rail gas block dpms gas tube rifle length dpms gas tube roll pin YHM freefloat handguard rifle length Will the rifle length free float tube work with the gas block? |
| Why would the new brake have to be repinned? Barrel under 16"? You could just shave the fsb down and cut off the delta ring and handguard retaining cap and use a free float that would install on the stock barrel but. Some examples are the Troy Alpha and Samson Evolution. |
| There was a thread similar to this a few days ago. There are a few other options. You could go with a DD omega rail which is designed around the stock barrel nut/delta ring (easiest option). or you can remove the delta ring and cut it off, cut down the front sight to make it low profile and use a hand guard that is made to work with a stock barrel nut such as Samson, Rainier arms, and Midwest makes one too. |
