I have a Rainier XTC Comp and need to have it welded to my 16" barrel(Stupid NY). My local "Fun" shop is asking $55 to pin and weld the compensator... To me, it feels overpriced. What say the crowd? This is the last "Evil" feature i need to disable before assembling my carbine.

Thanks,

Kris

$55 doesn't sound outrageous.

Ok. Thanks. Maybe I'm just being cheap.

I would just pay it.

ADCO, which is always the recommended vendor to have do it, charges $30.  But when you factor in that you have to pay shipping both ways, $55 isn't too bad, and the turnaround with going local is probably a lot quicker.

Not too bad.  But, if you want to make sure it's done right...call ADCO.

I asked a local smith yesterday.  $115
I was not interested.

That's what I was going to say. It's a payable price IF they do great work. I've seen some pictures on here of people got some pretty bad work done.

Sometimes certain things are best left to experts that specialize in certain fields. Not sure how many barrels your shop does but ADCO does nothing but excellent work for very reasonable prices. UPS to and from isn't going to be that much.

Ok thanks everyone. My shop has done quite a few ARs. So I think I'm just gonna cough up the money and see how it turns out.
