Working on a light weight .22 AR for my girlfriend, and just finished re-profiling the barrel down. I wanted to see what the tooling marks would look like when Gun-kote'd, so for shits and giggles I used the same color that I had painted the stock and grip with.

Honestly... I might leave it like this for a bit, at least until the heat bubbles it off (which I assume will happen the first time out). I think it will look pretty cool when I get a rail on it...

What did it start life as? You did the profiling yourself?

The rail will be black, probably a Troy Alpha or the MI tube.

It is a Kies M4 profile barrel that I picked up on Black Friday, I profiled it on a little Myford lathe.

Heat from a .22LR will never bother it even if you are doing full auto mag dumps.
