I'm having a hard time finding the moly fortified grease for the barrel nut. Is there another type or manufacturer that can be used without causing damage to anything?

Would something like this work?

"Moly" is short for molybdenum disulfied. Aeroshell 17 Aero Shell 33MS is such a grease if you have an airport near you you could get a tube or maybe a film canister full for next to nothing. Ask an aircraft mechanic. It's used on high pressure/ extreme pressure applications. |

I use a small tube of assembly lube bought at our local Auto Zone store.
It is intended to 'super-lube' an engine during assembly, does great on the AR. Think the tube cost me about $5 and so far has assembled 4 rifles (not counting barrel changes etc) and I have most of it left. |
