I'm starting to purchase parts for my first actual build (2nd AR) for a 300 BLK. I am planning on doing the entire rifle FDE or desert camo or something along those lines with accents wither black or stainless steel, depends on what barrel i end up getting. I am between Noveske, AAC, Wilson Combat, Spikes Tactical, some SS and other Black which is where the dilemma is.
Questions are as follows: 1- Where could i look up SS LPK? 2- Where can i find SS buffer tube or something in similar color/look? 3- Where can i find SS charging handle, BCG, or again similar color/look? I also had in my sight a BCM blemished upper but they ran out yesterday before i could get it. Could you guys point out a few stripped uppers around same price $90 or at least anything below $150, i dont want to spend to much money on a stripped upper like a MEGA, also same goes for lower. Thanks in advance for the input and help. Much appreciated...... |
| Probably because in the time it took you to create that post you could have done a forum or google search for your answers. I'm a newb and I know that there aren't many questions I'm going to have that haven't been asked before. If you show that you have done a little of the work (research) yourself, you'll have a better chance at getting some questions answered. |

But now to be more serious, on first recollections of places that sells AR parts I have never seen a SS buffer tube, standard charging handle, or LPK. BCG sure just not my thing (I like less shiny things on my "tactical" guns). Now again being an ass, if you look at Brownells you'll find stripped upper ranging from $90 to $182 depending on what manufacturer you want. Link to Upper specific search Surplus Ammo and Arms has stripped uppers for $65. Link They're good to go. You can seriously get a lot of asshole comments do to posts like this where you seem as if not even trying to search before posting, so keep that in mind. Now just curious, why the SS look? If needed that badly, you could get just the mass produced Aluminum parts and get them coated with a high gloss silver finish to mimic SS. And the steel parts, well there's too many different ways to get SS look with plane steel and I'm too tired to really list anything for it. Quoted:

I would:
Buy a LPK from Palmetto WITHOUT the fire control group, or a LPK from them with the ALG ACT trigger group (ie fire control group). Buy any mil spec buffer tube (receiver extension), castle nut, and backing plate. Send the Front and rear take down pins, bolt catch, Mag release, receiver extension, and backing plate to WMDguns for NiB coating. Make sure they don't coat the section of the extension that actually screws into the lower receiver. I would not do the castle nut either unless they can do JUST the outside of it. WMD will NiB coat the parts for "X" amount of dollars and that will get you the silverish color you are looking for. As for uppers, try Surplus Arms and Ammo, they have Aero and their brand uppers for around $70 but you will need the upper build kit. get that through Palmetto as well. If you want the ejection port door and forward assist NiB then wait for all those parts and send it out. The ALG ACT trigger comes with NiB coated hammer and trigger pins. |

Thanks, i was thinking the same thing on the nickel parts that most likely will have to ship to get it done. |

No w as a general for everyone else comments since there were not that many who contributed anything positive except upping their post count. I know i must research, google, yahoo and whatnot are available to me, but i figured since i did the research, both on here and yahoo and google and i could not find anything on the nickel parts, though i'd ask those who have built a lot more rifles than i to see if perhaps they knew about it.
The upper receiver question was again for those who have done more builds and know of good reputable sites where i can look it up, yes i did the research but there are quite a few sites and forums out there, just thought if anyone had the info all they had to do was post a few lines of websites where i could search myself, not asking for someone to go to the site, get the receiver, fill the info and have it shipped to my place. Anyways i thank everyone for their input so far. |
