Seems like your mbus are backward, or thats how you like them. Great build though.

+1

Sick rifle.  Looks like you went all out from the git go!

Good catch. I went back and forth deciding how they should go on and ultimately ended up with the way it is. I just flipped them around and realized having the adjustments facing the user makes much more sense. The peep hole is easier to see through as well.

Thanks for the heads up!

That is almost exactly what I have been looking at building, Idk about upper and lower, but barrel/YHM handgaurd and  mag pul are all what I have been looking at getting for my very first build.

Would you of wanted the gas block hidden? That's what I was thinking I wanted..

Seeing this insures me that I want it to look a lot like this! Thanks for posting

I really don't think you will like that rifle in the in the long run. I will take it off your hand at no charge.

The gas block doesn't bother me as is. More handguard = more weight as far as I am concerned. If I ever build a rifle with carbine length gas though, the gas block will definately be hidden

Haha, good joke! I am actually afraid to put a price to how much I have spent on it, for fear of a heart attack.

Anyway range results...

I shot a box of Prvi Partizan that went off without a hitch, so I was very happy it fired and ran smoothly and I still have all my fingers.

Then I moved onto some cheap Tula stuff...and got four FTF out of 20 rounds (light strike)
So then I tried some American Eagle I had, and it was worse (~10/20 rds FTF), again light strikes

I think I need to put the red spring in for my JP trigger until things get loosened up a bit. It was a bit tight when I installed it. I will also tear everything apart and check the firing pin/bolt/make sure the hammer isnt contacting the carrier. All this will have to wait until tomorrow night as I have a test to study for.

I will keep you guys updated on my progress.

Figured it out...hammer spring installed backwards. Seems to be a theme on this gun (oops!)

Im going to my grandmas 300 acre farm in Nebraska for deer hunthing this weekend. Might get to shoot the AR15 a bit if we finish early. I will keep you all updated.

Great looking build, similar to what I'm doing now. Did you check head space on your build or just trust the manufacturers? I have read conflicting reports on this practice. Not sure which way Im swaying.

A rifle that nice is too nice to run cheap ammo through.  Pick up some quality factory stuff or learn to reload and tune the ammo to the rifle.

I agree. I bought 1000 rds of Prvi Partizan 62gr which seems to get good reviews. I plan to save my brass and eventually buy some reloading equipment.

I just trusted the manufacturers. But WOA and BCM also have top notch reputations so it was a calculated risk.
