So i'm thinking of building an AR-57.  But I was wondering if the ATI Omni Lower (Polymer) would be a good choice for the 5.7x28 round.

Has anyone had any experience with the polymer lowers?

My first thought/concern would be the potential for damage to the polymer magwell and surrounding areas due to the way the AR57 uppers eject.

Just a thought.

that's what i was thinking as well.  hot brass going against the polymer magwell.  but i've also seen that people will take a regular mag and "trim" it to catch the brass.  and if that's the case, i would guess that the "gi-mag" would take care of the heat/edges from spent brass.

but recoil on the buffer threading?  i don't think that would be an issue.

Thanks

I'd use a 10-round GI mag with the floor plate removed as a "liner" for the mag well if I were going to attempt this with a poly lower. I don't see recoil as an issue.
