Im thinking of puting a low profile gas block on my DPMS Oracle, how hard is this to do?  Could I do this myself? Also what low profile gas block would you recommend?

Thanks

You will need a vise and a barrel block to clamp the barrel in so you can remove the flash hider.  You can make a block out of two pieces of hardwood (or one piece you drill a hole in then saw in half the length of the hole.)  Then you clamp the barrel securely in the vise block so you can put a wrench on the flash hider and take it off.  Loosen the screws holding on the factory gas block and slide it and the gas tube out.  You will need a fine roll pin punch to remove the gas tube roll pin from the block and to set the new roll pin.  (A lot of gas blocks come with a new roll pin but if the one you buy doesn't go ahead and get a new one.  They are tiny and easy to booger up.)  Make sure you get the tube in the right position in the new block, slide the new block and the tube onto the barrel and make sure you put it in exactly the same place on the barrel so the hole in the block is over the gas port on the barrel and tighten it down real good.  A little Locktite is a good idea on the screws.  Check it after a few rounds to make sure the screws haven't worked loose.  There is probably a video on the Brownells website that will walk you through the process.
