I'm definitely going with a Magpul CTR FDE stock and I'm trying to figure what's the best option on the buffer tube. Here's what I've come up with;

Brownells Mil Spec Adjustable Carbine Stock.

Or there is this complete kit that Spike's is offering

Magpul CTR-Mil Spec Complete Kit

Any other recommendations?

Thanks,

Chris

DSG has the CTR kit with milspec buffer tube kit for $99 (FDE is out of stock right now though). Another option is the ACS with stock kit in FDE for $139. Probably not as nice as the Spikes buffer tube, but it's an aluminum tube in the same spec so I don't know what the difference is.

I ordered the CTR kit in black and it shipped quickly. DSGarms is legit.

Thanks for the info. I'm not a fan of that stock but I did find this Magpul CTR Combo at LaRue which I just ordered. Worse case scenario I can always order another buffer if needed.

I have been getting mine from PK Firearms. They give you a choice of colors and you can upgrade the buffer. I usually order a 'H" buffer. Great products and very fast shipping.

I got my spring and buffer from Mark's Armory at a local gun show here for $12 and the milspec tube from eBay for $10.

I've spent more than I wanted to on this project. Living in Mass I had to pay over $700 just for the lower since it was a pre-ban!!!!

Didn't think about a local gun show......oh well!

You know I didn't even check these guys out....DAMMIT! The LaRue one is on backorder, maybe I'll see if I can cancel it.

I used the ATI tube and spring from CTD and am happy with it.

However I enjoy my magpul STR way better than my CTR. The cheekweld is much nicer. The ACS-L was not in stock at time I purchased.

Do you have a bipod? Reason I ask is that did you notice that discomfort when shooting that way?
