Well, 1 new and 1 reconfigure.

I've been wanting to try one of these Black Hole Weaponry barrels.
Surplus Ammo has 'em at a decent price IMHO ($230) and include a free SAA (Surplus Ammo & Arms) stripped upper, made by Aero Precision.
Aero uppers are GTG IME, so for the price of a completion kit ($20) I was well on my way.

I toyed with the idea for a week before I finally settled on the "Obummer-may-get-reelected" justification.

I added an SA&A lo-pro GB, a midlength gas tube, and an YHM rifle length Diamond Series floating QR HG with the end cap.

All told, around $450 shipped.

Now what to do with my PSA middly HBAR barrel on an FN upper that will get displaced from its lower (until more 80% lowers are shipping... I'm not buying anything "on the books" for a while).

I ordered a rifle length MOE HG and lo-pro GB from JoeBob and added a few mags to get me to the free shipping threshold.

I already had an Armalite clamp-on FSB.

Most HBAR barrels are .010" to .020" smaller than the gas block journal diameter, so a small shim lets you use pretty much any clamp-on FSB. I have some nice annealed stainless shim in various thicknesses. The stainless is so soft, it's easy to cut to size and I believe that the phosphate on the OD of the barrel and ID of the FSB will get a pretty good bite on the stainless... not as secure as mounting the FSB right on the barrel but I suspect it will never move. Mostly the FSB on the Dissy is for the look... I already had a Bushnell TRS25 (fantastic RD optic for the $$$!) and riser mount that needed a home, so now it is sitting pretty on the Dissy.

Ugh, I need a bigger gun safe now.

Ran 60 rounds through American Eagle Tactical ammo through the Blackhole Weaponry barrel today.
The upper ran perfect. Took me 25 shots to get it within a  few MOA of zero using an 18" shoot 'n see target at 200 yards.
200 yards was the closest backstop available, so I shot a few rounds into the 100 yard berm to get it close, then used my tried and proven method of circling the target until I get a hit then closing in on zero.

I was able to shoot a 7" 20 shot group at 200 yards with an Aimpoint M4, about 3.5 MOA, nothing special considering the ammo (which shoots 1.5 MOA out of my 20" 1:8 rifle) but pretty good for 47 year old eyes after 6 hours on the range today.

I did not get the Dissy entirely sighted in, but it ran through 40 rounds without any issues before my shooting buddy called it quits. I'd had enough at that point, so I'll have to finish that one up later, and it will be easier at 50 yards at the local range.

Man was it nice to spend practically the entire day at the range!

You should be worried about the other way around. His opponent has signed more anti assault weapon legislation than he has.

You are right, my fear is that ANY of these jackholes (other than Ron Paul) will get elected

Nice uppers!

@ 200 yds a 7" extreme spread should be around a 1.2 MOA average to center.  Not bad at all.

I used to think the same....but the only legislation Gov Romney signed as govenor was an improvment over what was in place ....was it perfect...no....was it better than what they had...yes..........Just my opinion from personal research........and nearly anyone is better'n Obama
