I'm in the process of gathering all my parts. Here is my list thus far I look forward to your opinions and reccomendations

1. Stripped lower Precision (only one available hopefully it's a good one)

2. Vltor mur -1 upper with bolt assist

3. Failzero Bolt and carrier

4. Yankee Hill barrell Fluted chromed 1:7 twist with pinned break 16" in 5.56

5. Basic lower parts kit (not sure if one is better then the other)

6. Magpul flip up backup sights

7. yankee hill 2 piece gas stop

8. Samson free float hand guard (not sure what length i need i'm guessing it would be the 12 " to ensure it covers the block and gas tube)

9. Magpul adjustable stock (eventually it too will need to be pinned.

10. Spikes tactical gas tube (melonite) I'm guessing for my barrel length it would be the mid-length one?

11. Magpul BAD lever

12. Vltor Charging handle

13. Buffer tube kit (not sure if one is better then the other) could use some recommendations

14. Magpul 10/20 Magaziene ( 10 round in a 20 round body) This is to comply with my states laws.

15 .Roll Pin set

16. small hammer

17. finally patience

So far of the list above I have my lower, upper and bolt carrier group.
Ordered my barrell thats on back order

those three items seem to be the hardest to get the rest I can order and are generally in stock at most online vendors.

Please let me know what you think of my shopping list and let me know if I have missed anything

Now do I have to buy the barrel nut and castle nut seperately? Will they come with the barrel and buffer tube kit/

Wish list Eotech holographic and 3x flip to side scope

Thanks in advance for any reccomendations

On the barrel, is it 16 inches with or without  the break?
If the barrel is 16  inches without the break ,there is no need to pin it.

Pending on what buffer kit you buy, it should come with it (castle nut).  Go ahead and plan for whether or not you want an end plate with a strap loop. Just some food for thought. As for the barrel nut, I don't know. I've only purchased complete uppers.

Only thing(s) I can think of are some kind of muzzle brake, castle nut, end plate, and maybe some form of AR wrench to tighten the castle nut, etc.

This your first AR?
Purpose of the rifle?

I personally would save the money on the Failzero bcg and get a regular bcg from a reputable company (LMT, BCM, etc) and use that money for better sights since all you have are the Magpuls.  The MBUs are decent sights but not something I would use extensively YMMV on that but I haven't really seen the need for anything more than a standard bcg besides a little easier cleaning with chrome.

Gas tube depends on the length gas system of the barrel.  Your barrel could be carbine or mid length gas.

grease for the barrel nut
vise block for the lower and the upper
barrel wrench

For you buffer tube and other small parts check Palmetto State Armory daily for their "deal of the day"  I've picked up lower parts kits with Magpul grip for $50 and a stook/buffer kit for $40 all in the last few weeks.  Shipping has been resonable too.

As far as sourcing parts I've had good luck with the following:

AIM surplus
Palmetto State Armory
Rainier Arms
MIdwayUSA

Thanks for the reply, I already got the bcg as for the sights. I was looking at the troy flip ups but heard the msgpuls would suffice.

You might read that for the grease info.  I haven't bought anything myself yet.

As far as the tools I got mine from Brownells and I'm happy with them.

My very first build I got this,

Has been reliable for the few hundred rounds I've had through it.
