OK, so this is my first post. I was in the Army for almost 13 years, so I've got a little experience with the AR/M16 platform. I was an armorer for a couple years as well, so I've done a little bit of lower work, though our uppers always went to depot, and I was unit level. This all brings me to my next question. I'm planning on building an AR soon, and will just buy the upper complete and build my lower.
All that said, what I want, and not sure if it's even possible. I want to build both of my sons an AR to give them when they get a little older, but what I want is "personalized" serial numbers (their birthdates)...does anyone know if there is a vendor out there that will customize serial numbers? Heck, may not even be possible, but was just curious... On a different note, is there a thread around that shows some budget builds? Say builds below $700? I tried the search, but was unsuccessful. Thanks for any info... Kevin |

There are 2 companies I have found that will do custom serial numbers.
The first, Fidelis Arms, jerked me around and lied to me for 18 weeks. They then lied about sending me a refund check. I was told that 3 separate checks were sent out. I had to get my CC company involved to get my refund. I would stay away from them if they are even still in business. The second, JD Machine, were great to work with. They quoted me 4 weeks for my custom serial number, and I had it in 2 weeks. The work was quick, top notch and communication was great. JD Machine |
