I'm thinking about buying an AR15 (.223), but not really sure the cost of building one, and would like some help.
New to AR's (but shot them enough) so I need to know all the parts needed to see if it will be worth it. Cost: Looking to buy a new one for 800.00-1100.00 (budget). So I thought about a build-but would of course like to keep it low so I can add extras (sights, grips, stock etc). Also, I do not know where to buy said parts, so links to specific parts would help so I know the right ones to buy. I do have a gun smith in town that will charge me $45.00 to assy the gun if all the parts are there. Thank you very much in advance, Jim |

There are some really good tutorials on this site. If you are not going to buy the tools to build multiple rifles, I would say it may make more sense to just buy one.
If you want to build the lower and then just buy the complete upper all you really need is a set of punches and wrench to put the buffer tube on. That MAY save you some cash depending on where and when you buy the parts (i.e. if you wait for clearances and what not). |
