finished my first upper build this afternoon. Thought I'd share.

-Rainier Arms 18" SPR Match barrel
-Rainier Arms ultramatch gas-block + rainier arms gas tube.
-VLTOR MUR minus FA
-Young MFG chrome BCG
-BCM gunfighter large latch
-Battle Comp
-Magpul AFG
-Troy Alpha 13" +troy standard barrel nut.
-Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x
-Larue SPR-E

Kinda dicked up the gas block's finish on one side while putting in the roll pin need to touch up some of the bluing I put on there, but I think I may just get another and try again or have someone else install it.

Thats a very nice upper! I was tempted to try a Rainier Barrel when I was planning my build. I did however get the Vltor MUR upper and have been extremely pleased with it. Love to know how that barrel shoots. And by the way I would not worry about scratches on the gas block. It adds character and things will surely get scratched sooner or later anyway!

Looks sweet! What kind of case is that? My last part should be here Tuesday, but I haven't found a case yet.

Ya, I put some pretty deep gouges in the gas block, sanded it down and put some 44/40 Gun Bluing on it, matches close enough for me but I over did part of it and over-rusted it.

I haven't shot it yet but I'm already in love with the upper receiver, it fits the lower like they were a matched set.

The case is a Pelican Storm iM3200 that I cut out with a $6 styrofoam cutter I got at a hobbyloby
