| I believe this is my first post on here but I have been on here for a while readin as much as I can but still cannot find the answer I am looking for. I built my first ar last year it function check Perfectly all lubed up but I am having an issue firing it. It fires the first bullet fine just on the second bullet is where the problems arise. The problem is he bolt doesn't completely go forward. The first thing I tried was the forward assist and that is hit or miss about fixing it. Then I tried the gas tube against the bolt to see if it was preventing the bolt from going forward and that is not the problem. Then one day after I was shooting the bolt was forward but still no boom with the pull of the trigger. It felt as if the trigger didn't reset with he bolt going forward. So I decided to put it on safe and unload I to check it out some more. But when I flicked it to safe he bolt went click and went completely forward. So I shot some more and with the flick of the safety switch the bolt goes completely forward. I am not sure how to fix this and couldn't find an answer. I am not sure if it just needs to cycle live ammo more since it maybe has 20 rounds through it or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Pictures would be helpful. Better description of what you have wold help too. Describe the following.
1. Do you have a shrouded bolt carrier? (Can you see the firing pin from the bottom of the bolt carrier?) - sometimes a unshrouded bolt carrier can hang up on a hammer (actually firing pin to hammer). 2. Describe or take a picture of your hammer. Is it notched? Or curved (rounded) at the tip? (The face that strikes the firing pin). Some people post that the notched hammers can bend firing pins. 3. Remove your firing pin and check to see if it's bent. Makes it sound by your description that maybe your fire control group is preventing your carrier from going completely into battery. If you are technically savvy. take the fire control group out and make sure that you don't have issues with the disconnector spring or that something hasn't gotten into the FCG and is preventing it from functioning properly. |
| I will post pictures as soon as I get home. Since I am still at work tonight. As far as the shrouded bolt. I believe I do but not 100% sure. As soon as I get back home tonight from work I will pull it apart and take pictures. But it may come down to me taking the fire control group apart clean everything inspect and put it back together. |

Trigger spring is installed incorrectly. The piece of the spring you see on top is supposed to be under the trigger.
Also make sure the large end of the disconnector spring is down inside of the tigger not at the top. As far as the bolt not closing. Make sure the carrier key is not binding on the gas tube and you have correct alignment again. Might want to check the head spacing. If you are shooting reloads adjust your die correctly the case length may be too long. |

Also, the 3rd picture, looks like the safety selector is loose in the lower.
It should be snug in the lower, with no left-to-right movement at all and the rotational stops (clicks in each position) should be firm and produce an audible click. Did you install the detent and spring properly from the back side of the receiver? |
