Working on my first build/ first AR.  I just ordered my barrel... Not sure if I made the right choice.  Black Hole Weaponry 5.56 16" standard profile, mid-length, 1x8"...
Parts i have :
12" free float handguard-gun show
spikes stripped lower
some upper i picked up at a gun show
rra two-stage trigger
bcm bcg auto
bcm charge handle

I like to hear what you guys think so far.  Also recommendations for a lpk and gas block would be appreciated

Looks pretty good so far. Not too sure about using an un-know upper, and you'll most likely want to change the forearm later down the road (most people do) But looks pretty good otherwise to get your feet wet with.

Spikes +1
RRA +1 (don't let the haters tell you other wise, had LOTS of experience with RRA and never had a problem of any kind)
BCM BIG Double +1 x1000

On an LPK I'd look into PSA or White Oak Armament, both have good quality kits available without the trigger group. Gas Block? hard to go wrong there, just need one small enough to fit under your FF rail. Like a YHM Lo-profile for $20

Like the above poster stated, good parts so far but be critical of the no-name upper (look for bad wear etc before using).

I've had success with a couple DPMS lpk's so far, others will call BS on them. Also a +1 on the PSA lpk as I just got their
Magpul MOE CTR LPK in last week, good quality stuff, plus it was and may still be on sale.

Excellent thanks dudes.  Looks like I'll be going with the PSA lpk then.  Cant wait to get this thing together!

The upper is a SOTA, I just remembered.  $68 couldn't pass it up.
