hey guys i built my first ar 6 or 7 months ago and now i want to build a 6.8 upper for hunting. My qustion is my lower says for cal. .223 or 5.56 can i use this lower for a 6.8 upper thanks

Yes. As long as it is an AR-15 lower you are fine. A lot of the available AR lowers say "Multi-Cal" on them for this reason, the only parts that change are in the upper.

i know it fit but doesnt the lower have to say multi cal or does it not matter.

doesn't matter one bit. you can take a custom engraved AR-15 lower that says 50 BMG on it and it's still the same design dimensions.

ETA: Don't worry, ATF won't hunt you down for using a 5.56 marked lower with a 6.8 upper.
