Decided to pop my cherry and build my first AR.

Here's what I've got so far.

JD lower (made in San Diego)
PSA Gen 2 Lower build kit
California Required Bullet Button

For better or worse I Frog Lubed all parts before assembly.  I started the trigger polish, but really need to work on that.  It feels relatively short, but gravely.

What's on it's way
Vltor E mod Stock
Troy rear folding sight

What's planned
PSA Dissapator upper

Looks like a good start. Of course we expect more pics as the build comes together.

Just performed the DIY trigger job.  WOW, huge difference.  I didn't have a knife stone, but used some old Hobby sand paper.  Started with 3600 grit, coulda used a 2000 for some quicker cutting.  Moved to 3600 then followed up with 6000.  When I was done I found that the center of the machined areas was a little lower and couldn't quite cut the center areas.  However, when I was done the contact points were a very nice mirror finish.

I didn't do the Set Screw limiter although the total pull on the trigger is only .05 or 1/20 of an inch.

Trigger pull is much smoother and graveliness is gone.  Glad I put it together to feel it first, I wouldn't have appreciated the difference if I had just polished it first.  Still has a nice crisp solid break, so I'm pretty happy, now to make my P220 feel this good!

Kinda hard to see, but nice and shiny compared to the machined
