LPK/Lower Receiver came in today at the gunshop, $35 transfer fee, 20min drive back home and I started to get to work, here are some pics of the process, I downloaded via HTC cell tubemate of the "how to assemble a lower part 1/2" off youtube in high res then moved it to my laptop and placed it next to the desk to follow along. Tomorrow the Upper comes to the front doorstep then off to Cabelas for some ammo to load up the mags.

I love the lighting in your photos. It almost like you are hiding something from the wife Poor lighting, and used an HTC Desire for the pics, I was too lazy to bust out the big boy (Canon 7D), but the pics came out pretty well, when working, I found that using a miners flashlight came in real handy even in good lighting areas, its hard to see inside the receiver and to get the springs/detents installed, but it worked out well, actually the youtube video that I used as a guide forgot to tell me to put the detent for the rear pin to attach the upper so I had to remove the buffer tube/spring and the spring/tube catch FLEW way up in the air, but luckily it caught onto the curtain and it just slid down onto the desk again back onto the towel lol, I was like "PHEW". |

LOL I too had a pin fly into a curtain and landed on the floor. I was lucky to find mine |

I have to say I too like PSA. Their roll mark isn't my favorite but I like their inventory and its all quality stuff.
Actually dropped by their main store on the way from NC to GA to see my son graduate basic at Ft. Benning. Will be stopping by again next week when we pick him up from AIT. He's not flying home specifically because he wants to stop by PSA on the way home. Don't get me wrong its not the end all AR superstore and we have some great gun shops here in Fayettenam but its good shopping all the same. |
| Installed the MBUS and tried getting a feel for it when aiming, it seems that the buffer tube/stock seem to be a bit loose, not by a lot, is there a way to get it tightened or should I be ok with just a small mm of play, is it possible to use teflon tape on the castle nut to get it tightened up? I do not have a castle nut wrench, any thoughts on an alternative to tighten up the nut? |
