| I recently finished my first build and thought i was GTG. I have a spikes lower, LPK, BCM BFH 16" upper BCM bolt ACR stock, all mil-spec. I put on a YHM free float rail and a YHM low-pro gas block. I didn't realize at the time (first build), that the rail wound't cover the gas block. Now I want to change it already. My question is, should I keep the YHM rail and put my standard FSB back on, or should I get a new rail? I am not the biggest fan on the YHM free floater. |

74 views and no replies? Come on guys need some advice. Probably no replies because you simply need to make up your mind. Everything you ask falls into the "personal preference" category laced with some parts ordering mistakes. An exposed low-pro gas block looks good when it's tapered on the front end like these.. MI Low-Pro GB Verify that the GB is long enough to cover your FSB scars. If you don't like the YHM handguard, sell it off. Measure the handguard length that you need. If you took off your "standard" gas block (A-frame FSB ?) for a floater, then why put it back on ? BFH = Big Fuggin Hammer CHF = Cold Hammer Forged |

I'm having my doubts also. I have a yhm specter lightweight for midlength, but now I'm thinking about going with a troy VTAC alpha 11". It's slimmer, lighter, continuous top rail, covers gas block, no need for rail covers, and modular.
edit: and it's not much more than the yhm and rail covers |
