I would just buy the CTR as a kit from PSA or DSG and choose mil-spec. Done. If you're a warfighter and might use your stock as weapon, you could hunt down a Colt or LMT RE. Curious, what's the allure with the CMMG LPK ? |

If I were getting a (more correctly known as) receiver extension today, I'd get a LaRue. While I would normally also recommend Larue, I saw a thread today of a guy who ordered one almost two months ago and just got it today. Aim has Spikes tubes in stock and ready to ship for $34. And CMMG parts kits are ok. I've used one in the past. Its what PSA was using for their lower build kits before they started sourcing their own parts. |

I used a DD LPK and got a damn good USGI trigger with it, as has been reported. $20 more for the DD LPK. You should look over the PSA LPK offerings. They have the largest selection of LPK's anywhere and their prices are hard to beat. Good luck with the build. |

I use these depending on if it's a fun or defensive build, and they are called receiver extensions. $12 Budget 6061 aluminum - http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XDSABuffer&name=DSA+Inc.+6-Position+Mil-Spec+Buffer+Tube&groupid=301&search=buffer+tube $36.95 Stronger 7075 aluminum - http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Milspec-Receiver-Extension-Buffer-Tube-p/bcm%20milspec%20receiver%20extension.htm |

My BCM are definitely have slightly bigger outer diameter than my DSA, and others like Colt, LMT, and Vltor, it fits nice and snug on my Magpul CTR and other Colt/ LMT M4 buttstocks. If you want a better looking finish and position numbers, except they're 5 positions only take a look at Vltor. |
