Sorry for all the questions about the gauges. What do I need for my AR build. Would .223 Remington work or do I need 5.56x45?

You'll need whatever chamber your barrel is cut for. It should be marked if it's cut for .223, 5.56 or Wylde.

You'll need the 5.56 gauge, it will work for Rem 223, Wylde and 5.56 head-spacing.
