One of the tools I did buy with my AR was a HG tool. I got one from Midway.Pt. # 610165. It is stout steel rod coated with a rubber/plastic that feels and looks good. I have used it twice. Check out the pics. I'm waiting to hear back from Midway. They have always been good to me with problems like this. Looks to me like the steel wasn't prepped properly before the coating was applied. Some of the rod is rusty. I tried wrapping with electrical tape over the torn areas .. that was a joke.

I've had handguards that came right off and handguards that were UNGODLY tight.

Got word from Midway they are sending a new set, no charge. I may try the plastic tubing on the 1st set just for grins. Plus, the new ones might not be any better. |
