I see a lot of first time builders posting so I decided I would add my post. I have one other AR which I purchased as a complete rifle from RRA. Its an awesome rifle but the price tag and wait was a little more then Im looking for this time around. So I have decided to build one. I havent decided on an upper yet but looking at a mid length BCM or ArmaLite.

| The Spikes Battle Trigger is pretty descent for the money. It's has a little creep, but it's much smoother than the stock PSAs I have tried. The Battle trigger springs brought it from over 8 pounds to right at 6 pounds. The extra JP spring kit I have will get it down to 4.0, and I might try grind away some of the trigger to remove some of the creep. I have yet to tap and set screw the receiver - that might be easier, but I like playing with the triggers. |

Yes I got the A2X flash hider. I didnt feel like messing around with NFA stuff just yet. Still need to setup a gun trust.
As for the battle trigger I didnt notice any creep but then again Im pretty new at this. It breaks clean and smooth IMO. I didnt want to drop the $150-$250 on a trigger and from the reviews I read online the Spikes Tactical Battle trigger was a decent single stage trigger. |

Its nail polish. Picked it up from the local pharmacy for a total cost of $6 and I finished it off with my wifes nail hardening clear coat. Here are a few pictures of what it looked like during the process. I figured it would be durable enough to handle the elements and cheap enough if I needed to reapply. So far it has held up to light application of gun cleaning solvent and oil.

Question on the paint: After you filled the area, did you let it dry then remove the excess or remove excess while still wet? Also what did you use to remove the excess? I let it dry before removing the excess. I found it didnt fill the lines in as well when wet because the paint mixed with the remover and thinned out. I used acetone because it didn't leave behind a film and I used it before painting to remove oil and grease. I used a lot of paper towel because I would only do one or two light passes. I cut the paper towel into 2"x2" squares. I tried using the same paper towel and doing multiple passes but again the paint and remover mixed and thinned out. Also if you are doing multiple colors do the darker colors like red first. I did white first and ended up redoing the white because the red ran into the white while I was wiping it away. Dont be scared if you mess up. Worst case is you totally soak the lower in remover and start over. |

Really like that lower. Rifle looks great. Think after seeing your MI handgaurd Im going to have to order one. Now I just need to decide what rife to get it for. I love that MI hand guard. Took like 2 minutes to install, weights 9oz and there isnt any movement. I would recommend it for your next rifle |
| Make sure you only shoot Hornady Zombie Max Ammo through it. |
