I purchased several PSA lowers a while back and I'm getting things ready to do the assembly.
What tools do I need to get this accomplished? Is there any special equipment I need or can get to make this job easier for the " Mechanically Challenged " ? |

For installing a LPK?
The only tool I bought was the stock wrench. I used a hammer and a nail set (any punch), or you can use channel locks to squeeze the pins in. And a box cutter, used the blade to hold the front take down spring and detent down as I slid the takedown pin in place. You really dont need anything special, but they do make alot of tools for the job. |

Thanks Saddlerocker.
458winmag, I checked the sticky, did I miss the tool list or should I just check out the pics? Don't want to spend an arm and leg on tools that I don't need but I would like to know what I can use to make the job easier. This site has given me the bug, I bought 3 PSA receivers several months back and I'll probably get 3-4 more next year, so I'm wanting to get the basic tools needed. |

pin punch set from midway $25
ar multi wrench psa $25 pro mag lower vise block from midway $12? works fine and if you put some electrical tape around it it takes away the wobble rguns blocks aim $55 takedown pin plastic punch midway $3 also works for installing mag release button centers perfectly and helps push in farther to make the job easier detent spring tool midway $5 cant promise prices are still the same but its what i paid not to long ago. makes life easier i can tell you that. only other ar specific tool i might pick up is possibly a clam shell upper holder or the upper holder that you can use the pins or the flat top rails to hold it. |
