Good Afternoon All,
I am working on my first build (building it for the wife so I have her on my side! ) I am at the point that the next purchase is going to be a barrel, but it looks like there are many manufactures.
I did a search but did not see any threads dedicated to barrel manufacture discussion. Please guide me! What Manufacture's are best quality, best value, worst quality etc? Thanks! |

Well, going to .204 is going to narrow the field considerably. Yeah, 204 is a varmint/P-dog focused deal so I'm guessing the barrels are going to be heavy bull. I really don't know who makes one. DPMS and ??
I shoot at dogs with a 223, wylde chambered RRA bull barrel thats been turned down a bit. I like pulling the trigger. |

From what I understand Shilen appears to be the best quality one out there... but the DPMS has good reviews. I was/am looking for more options, but as you said. The field is narrowed considerably. |
| I am tagging this as I have 2 complete rifles less barrels and am in a holding pattern here. I know I want Rock River as the rest of the rilfes ar RR with a BCM charching handle (Chrome Bolt carriers) but then I know I want at least one with a free float but... what length, midweight, heavy rifle, front sight or none? |
I got a Green Mountain 5.56 20" 1:7. Drives nails all day with my reloads
