Hey everyone. Recently joined after a long time reading. Finally looking to build my first AR from the ground up and would like opinions on my parts list. I'm not new to AR's but this will be my first build. Here's what I am thinking. If I'm missing anything or major issues with components let me know.

Rainier Arms Billet Upper & Forged Lower
Rainier Arms Select SS 14.5" Barrel with their XTC Tactical Compensator pinned for legal length along with their SS gas block
Rainier Arms Free Float Rail - X11
Young Manufacturing Chrome BCG
BCM Gunfighter CH
DPMS parts kit
Magpul MOE grip
Spikes Tactical Buffer Tube Assembly
Either Magpul MOE stock or Vltor IMOD - not sure yet

Would be great to hear thoughts/opinions.

Sounds like a nice setup.

Does the X11 have its own barrel nut?  Also will the gas block come with its own gas tube and roll pin? I'd also have them pin the gas block to the barrel.

I'd talk to PSA and get their MOE lower parts kit. $55 iirc.

I'm a big fan of the EMod but your choice in stock is good.

PICS or it hasn't happened

Haven't built yet. Going to be ordering very soon though.

I'll have to check on the barrel nut. I forgot about that.

I am going to have them pin the gas block for sure. I'll get a gas tube from Rainier also but I am under the impression that any gas tube would run fine as long as I don't get crap.

For sites, I've got an Eotech 551 I'll be using along the USGI rear BUIS and probably Magpul Front site

I personally would skip the chrome bcg and either go standard phosphate or Nickel Boron.  Chrome doesn't offer the benefits needed to justify the price hike compared to phosphate and doesn't compare to the functionality of NiB.

I would also send the barrel off to adco and get it fluted or reprofiled... light makes right.

also would NOT pin the gas block... get a clamp on style... less chance of the pin or set screws creating a stress point.
