I am starting a build from all parts.  I am planning on building a piston AR using the Adams piston set.  I need to purchase a barrel but do not need the gas block.  I would like a good barrel, not top of the line, but good.  What are some recommendations and best places to buy.  I have been looking at Midway and they seem to have a few good ones but I know very little about barrels.  Thanks

ETA - Yea I guess I did not provide enough info.  This gun is just for all around shooting.  Maybe a little coyote hunting, range time, home defense/shtf, etc...  I am leaning towards a 16 inch barrel with M4 feed ramps.  As far as twist rate and type of material I am open to suggestions as well.  My experience with ARs is limited to Military M-16s and a few different department Ar-15s with different pedigrees.

Like i mentioned earlier I know little about barrels.  I just shoot what comes with the rifle.  So any input is welcome.

Which length, twist rate, steel type, bore lining & feed ramp type do you want? You didn't post enough intel for others to be able to make a decent recommendation.

This and:

What will you be doing with this rifle: 3 gun, National Match, Service Rifle match, plinking, HD/SHTF, patrol/duty, hunting big game, hunting varmints, all of the above?

How about this barrel.  Reviews seem to be good.  The price seems to be OK also.  Opinions?

That is an excellent cut rifled barrel. It's not a CHF like most current DD barrels. Bear in mind that you will need a low pro gas block or have a gun smith drill & pin a FSB on it. I say buy it for what you want to do.
