| I bought a 14.5 upper from botach a little while ago that I need to get a longer flash hider pinned onto. I tried to twist it off using the leather glove/vice method, but I'm afraid of torquing the barrel and ruining it. What i'm asking is if LMT is known to put loctite on the threads and what the orientation is of the threads on the end. Also how much torque can you put on a barrel before you twist the barrel? Any help would be appreciated!! |

My 16" LMT had only a crush washer behind the A2. You're probably not going to twist the barrel from the barrel extension on a LMT––-the B/E should be 150lbs and pinned before drilling for the gas port.
You'll find an armorers wrench and a plastic bag over the FH will be sufficient to pull that muzzle device. You'll also be able to install another one and have it pinned and welded. |

I can almost guarantee if the uppers are from Botach, they are peel washers and require the "lefty loosy" method. Which means vice the fsb and twist to the left? Noob to all of this, so I want to make sure of everything. Thanks for all of the help so far! (and I did search beforehand) |
