I'm thinking of adding a bipod and a forward grip to my M4 setup.  This is mostly a range toy but it does double as my home defense weapon should the SHTF.

My rifle currenlty has a MAGPUL MOE handguard.  I'd like to add the two accessories mentioned, spend as little as possible, but not sacrifice on quality.

Is my best bet getting some kind of accessory that double both as a bipod and grip or is it better to mount them as seperate accessories?  Any advice, thoughs, shared experience or pictures would be greatly appreciated!

I'd forget the bipod on an M4, for the VFG go with the Magpul VFG on their little section of rail.

Personally, I would use 2 separate pieces of furniture for that.  Harris bi-pods from larue tactical are about as good as they come, but the foregrip is completely up to your preference.  Some people like vertical grips, and some prefer the new magpul afg style.
