the safety on my new lower is pretty tight, much tighter than my other.  its a spikes lower with DD part kit.  I will be using it for hunting so I would like the safety to be a bit looser and smoother.

any suggestions?

Take your safety detent out and check the sharp edge that fits into your safety, make sure it's not too sharp, or too flat, or anything else that can make it bind up too much.  Make sure you have the right spring in there too, and that it's not kinked up or binding.

You can reshape the detent, shorten the spring, or just work the safety lots and lots of times to loosen it up.  I'd try working it a lot first before you go cutting or making changes that would require replacing parts.

You may have to fit the safety to the back of the trigger.
Take the trigger out then check if the safety works smoothly, if it does then its the trigger
This is not that uncommon when installing an ajustable trigger

lish the point or cut off one coil till the safty feels right... also make sure you de-bur the holes with a drill bit and only turning it with your fingers not a drill to see if you feel any resistance.....in thiscase its not VIVA LA RESSISTANCE.......
