Can't go wrong here
buy another one! You will have more of a headache trying to fix that and will spend more money then it is worth. put a check next to lesson learned and get another one. |

I agree with just buying a new grip and the RVG is a great suggestion for the price.
If you're dead set on "fixing" it I would try something like this: Self fusing silicone tape Wrapped creatively i'm sure you can get it to work and it's fairly tacky for added grip. |

I would just go with a new RVG but the the TD has specific features I'm looking for. Thanks for the suggestions I'll try some of those if I can't track down the guy who sold it to me. I wouldn't mind putting a litle time into repairing it, other than the hack job the rest of it is fine.

I gotta tell ya this guy took a risk putting his feedback status in jeopardy. Some people wouldn't hesitate to make him famous for selling this as "like new". But I won't do it over a $45 sale. Why not? Would you buy from him again, or recommend him? I didn't think so. Thus the reason for feedback. To identify lying sacks of crap who prey on those who won't tell it like it is. |

super glue. took the wobble out of my Tango down rail cover Lol, yeah but I've got like a half inch of movement here. It's not the usual play. Superglue crossed my mind but besides the amount of play in question, I was also concerned it might crack and flake off. That M4 tape link above looks good. Right now I'm just waiting on a reply from the seller. I should have contacted him before even starting this thread, my bad. Quoted:
If you aren't planning on removing it there are plenty of options. Of all the options available I'd buy an RVG. I am not a fanboy of Magpuls by any means but the RVG will be cheaper than another TD. It will be removed occasionally - it's essentially part of a flashlight / tape switch setup which I don't always have mounted. |

If the seller didn't disclose that it had been modified then you need to ask for a refund. |

If you're wanting the TD for the tape switch channel in it, you can use a piece of a bicycle inner tube as a sleeve over the VFG to hold tape switches in place.
That's what we used to do back when the Knights style VFG was the only one available to the Mil. Hope that helps and good luck |

This vfg wobbles a half inch on my rail due to the "custom work" done on it. What can I do to fix the areas that were shaved down? Is there a plastic putty or something I can apply and reshape? I have $45 in it already, don't want to spend too much more. http://i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n507/bud7h7/vfg_b.jpg JB Stik A hardware store that carries JB products should carry it. Look near the adhesives. |

I'd get my money back, but if you don't I would try the roll pin fix before anything else.

Was the pic you posted above, or something like it, available to you when you purchased this thing? That is carved up. No, that's my own pic. There was no bottom vew in the ad. Turns out it wasn't shaved down, it was rubber malleted onto the rail. Quoted:

ETA: I don't think that will in this case due to the actual cause of the looseness. It's not merely a loose fit all around, but rather a deformity in one particular contact area. Worth a try though. ETA more: This would be a frequent on-and-off grip. Wouldn't want to deal with the roll pins in this particular case. |
