I am a big fan of the Troy™ TRX Extreme BattleRail and the VTAC versions, as well as their folding BUIS. I need to order another rail for a new build, but would it be worth waiting for the upcoming Troy BattleRail Alpha (pending) with its "new low-profile locking mechanism, offering unparalleled strength and stability, with built-in legendary Troy spring-loaded front Battlesight"? What says the collective AR15.com hive mind?

| If it locks like the TRX I can't imagine the rail shifting at all. I use a TRX VTAC 11" on my 6.8 SBR and I really like the idea of this Alpha rail. Another benefit is the flip up front although I'd prefer it to be an HK style. Guess Troy is taking a note from the KAC URX. One thing I can't ignore though is having a 12 o'clock mounted light in your setup. Defeats the purpose of a flip up sight in that position. Maybe running it at 1100/100 position would work. |

I think that they purposely designed that front sight without pic-rails so that it would only be a flip-up. Seems like the Samson Evolution looks better because you can do a 12 o'clock light mount on a milspec barrel nut equipped upper. I won't be looking at this rail hardly at all until they actually come up with one that doesn't put a sight up front that I don't need or want in my setup. It's a great idea, just not for me yet. OP: Hope it works for ya. |

If you don't mind losing that rail space for a light/laser then go for it. I might get one if I chop down the fsb. I think you and the other replier need to go to the website. The details state that it comes with "three small detachable rails and all mounting hardware." You can go 3, 6, or 9 o'clock with a flash light. I prefer the lights out tactical advantage to be the best option anyway. Rob |
